Stewed cabbage

Stewed cabbage

  • 1 jar of 800g. pickled cabbage (as I live abroad I buy cabbage),
  • an onion,
  • smoked sausages (I put Iberian ham, pork pastrami, bacon and a piece of smoked pork cut into cubes),
  • 4 tablespoons broth,
  • half a tablespoon of oil,
  • sons of laurel,
  • pepper,

Servings: 3

Preparation time: less than 90 minutes


  • chop the onion finely and put it to harden with half a tablespoon of oil and with the sausages cut to everyone's preference (I broke the ham with my fingers: P, I cut the parsley and bacon into strips and the smoked pork into cubes),

  • leave for 6-7 minutes and add the cabbage with the juice (mine was ready cut. if you take the cabbage out of the barrel, cut it with the desired and put it in the pot), put the bay leaves and pepper and mix well salt because cabbage is salty!)

  • let it boil for 40 minutes on low heat,

  • then add the broth, (I like it redder so I put 5 tablespoons of broth) mix well and leave for another 5 minutes on the fire,

  • I served it with polenta, pork tenderloin and hot peppers VERY GOOD !!!!
